What is Next Great Awakening Ministries (NGA)?

 

NGA is a ministry with partners across the nation and world that is contending for the next Great Awakening. The strategy involves establishing prayer and Bible training centers to fulfill the apostolic priorities of continual “prayer and the ministry of the Word” (Acts 6:4) in some of the most strategic communities on earth! Special focus is currently on the strategic Dearborn - Detroit corridor where Islam is making unprecedented gains in a major American metro area. Prominent prophetic voices are also increasingly pointing to this region as the key to the Next Great Awakening.

January, 2012 ?

On Friday evenings in the heart of Dearborn, a revival is taking place. The sick are being healed, drawing multitudes from the Dearborn Arabic community and even the Middle East. Detroiters and even people from all over the country and world are coming as well.

Also drawing the multitudes is the Presence of God that is ushered in by anointed worship. People celebrate: singing, clapping, shouting, dancing. They are swept up in a tidal wave of joy! At other times, the holiness of God brings a hush, with people on their knees and faces, some weeping at the overwhelming Presence.

The Gospel is preached. Drawn and touched by the miracles and Presence, all are ready to listen. Powerful Arabic speaking evangelists, interpreted in English, are among the regular speakers. Formerly unbelieving Americans and Muslim Arabs receive Christ into their lives by the dozens, then hundreds, then thousands. The altars are opened, and God begins to do his miraculous work again.

Saturday morning healing rooms have opened up, and there is talk of adding Saturday evening and Thursday evening revival services.

A wellspring of healing and salvation has been released in Springwells, Michigan: now known as Dearborn.

 

Besides what happens at the Friday revival services, there are important elements that fuel the fires of revival. The most important is 24FLOOD: the 24/7 prayer, prophetic and worship vigil taking place in the prayer center. A portal between heaven and earth has been opened up over Dearborn because of the constant prayer and worship.

The War College functions on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is here where the workers and interns that are running and staffing the revival and house of prayer are equipped in ministry and grounded theologically in the move of God. Our battle is NOT against flesh and blood, but against SPIRITUAL forces. Here, people are equipped with SPIRITUAL weapons to carry out SPIRITUAL warfare. College level classes through Central Bible College and institute level classes through the International School of Ministry are offered. Classes are even offered in Arabic and Spanish. Classes in other languages are in the works. Some come from around the nation and world for the education itself, but want it in the environment of revival. People from around the Detroit metro area not directly involved in the revival are also taking advantage of the classes being offered, thus equipping the general Detroit-wide revival that is stirring.

Treasure hunting (Spirit-led evangelism) mostly takes place Thursdays and Fridays during the day, drawing even more into the revival services.

   

The revival is run by a coalition of local churches called MGAT: the Metro Gateway Apostolic Team. The local churches have a vital role in providing discipleship, pastoral care, fellowship, family and more worship opportunities for the many who are coming to Christ locally.
